Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have auto glass insurance coverage. Can I choose the auto glass company that does the work?

A: Yes! Minnesota law gives you the right to choose any auto glass replacement shop you want to. Most insurance companies provide toll free numbers for reporting glass claims. Customers should be aware, many of these numbers go directly to national auto glass companies and networks, (not your insurance company!) It is important to know whom you are dealing with! Ask them, don't be fooled. Don't let them steer you to their "favorite" shop. Remember YOU choose who works on your vehicle. Tell them who YOU want to replace your auto glass. You have trusted Gordy's Premier Auto Glass as your locally owned and operated auto glass source for more than 38 years.

Q: What happens when I call the insurance company 800 number for auto glass repair?

A: Many insurance companies use 3rd party out-of-state vendors to administer auto glass claims. These vendors will initiate your glass claims. Some will ask where you want to have the work done. Others will suggest repair shops from "THEIR LIST." Still others will attempt to persuade you to accept THEIR company to complete the repairs. Some 3rd party vendors go to great lengths to persuade you to accept them to complete the job. This is done by suggesting possible out of pocket expenses, possible warrantee problems or your shop is not on their "Preferred Vendors List." the truth is: By law, you can choose who replaces your vehicles glass. If you have a preference stand firm and tell them you want Gordy's Premier Auto Glass to complete the repairs. Choose a facility that is established, one that uses OEM quality glass and premium adhesives. Be sure they employ only certified installers. Ask them about services after the sale. Gordy's Premier Auto Glass is your installation facility that fits all these quality standards..

Q: Does it matter who installs my windshield?

A: Yes. Not all glass companies are the same. The windshield is an important structural component of your vehicle. In an accident, the windshield is designed to work with the airbag and support the roof in the event of a rollover. Therefore, it is important to use quality replacement glass, the proper adhesives, installed by certified professionals using the latest techniques. At Gordy's we employee NGA trained & certified installer and use only OEM quality glass, not imported glass and top quality Sika adhesives.
